We spent the entire day on Lake Chiemsee touring the Royal complex of King Ludwig II known as Herrenchiemsee. Today happened to mark the 125th year of Ludwig's mysterious death. King Ludwig II was quite obsessed with Louis XIV of France and, therefore, this palace was not meant to be lived in but was an homage to Louis XIV. You could call this palace a "mini Versailles." We had a wonderful dinner on the smaller island on Lake Chiemsee. My favorite part of the meal was the white asparagus soup, which is currently in season here in Germany.
