Pre-departure

Hello all! I've been lucky enough to have been selected to be a member of the Transatlantic Outreach Program (TOP) sponsored by the Goethe-Institut. The TOP consists of a two week trip to Germany for social studies educators across the country. The goal of this trip is to provide social studies teachers with a global understanding from an international perspective using modern Germany as the basis for comparison and contrast. Areas that teachers will be exposed to are German government, economics/business, education, and culture. The trip I will be going on lasts from June 10-25. I have chosen to extend my trip a few extra days to also visit Brussels, Belgium and Paris, France. Throughout the course of my trip I will update the blog with descriptions of our daily activities as well as pictures from my trip.
