Day 1 - Fri. June 10, 2011
I flew out of St. Louis in the morning direct to Washington D.C. where I met up with the other 15 social studies teachers from across the country who were going on the tour too. We began our orientation on Friday afternoon.

Day 2 - Sat. June 11, 2011
We resumed our orientation in the morning and ended in the early afternoon. The orientation outlined what "The Rules" of the tour were and what topics we would be exposed to while in Germany. The orientation ended in the early afternoon and we were left with some time to sight-see around Washington D.C. A few other participants and myself decided to go to the National Portrait Gallery. That afternoon we boarded a bus and headed to Dulles International Airport outside of Washington D.C. to board our overnight flight to Munich. We flew Lufthansa Airlines and the flight last roughly 8 and a half hours (of which I slept for only about 75 minutes)
